Grilled Buffalo Wings

Buffalo wings are a classic staple of Fall and football season. These wings are perfect for a weekend gathering with friends and family and are very easy to prepare. Grab some napkins and your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!

Ingredients:

For wings:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (thaw if frozen)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

For sauce:

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ cup of Frank’s Red Hot Original buffalo sauce (or similar brand)
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon sugar

Instructions:

  1. Pat dry chicken wings. In large bowl, coat wings in oil along with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Combine until wings are evenly covered. Set in fridge.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and add buffalo sauce, garlic, salt, chili powder, onion powder, and sugar. Leave on lowest setting while cooking wings, stirring occasionally.
  3. Bring grill to about 400°F, allowing for one side of grill to be direct heat and the other indirect heat. Place wings over direct heat for 10 minute, flipping halfway through.
  4. Move wings to indirect heat and continue cooking for 10-15 mins, flipping halfway through. Wings are finished when the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Place grilled chicken wings into a large bowl. Slowly start adding buffalo sauce from sauce pan and spin the wings until evenly coated to desired amount of sauce.
  6. Serve alongside ranch or blue cheese!
