Stan Evans Barbecue Sauce


  • Bacon Fat or Lard, 2 Tablespoons
  • Yellow Onion, 1/3 of onion
  • Garlic, 4 cloves
  • Brown Sugar, 1 Cup
  • Cider Vinegar, 1 Cup
  • Ketchup, Natural, 2 Cups
  • Smoked Paprika, 1 Tsp
  • Mustard Powder, 1 Tsp
  • Sea Salt, 1 Tsp
  • Pepper, 1 Tsp
  • Worcestershire Sauce, 4 Dashes


  1. Heat sauce pan over medium heat, add Fat. Stir, add Onion for 6-8 minutes. Add Garlic for 3 minutes.
  2. Add Brown Sugar for 2-3 minutes. Stir in Apple Cider Vinegar, Ketchup, Paprika, Mustard Powder, Salt & Pepper. Simmer 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add Worcestershire Sauce, Simmer 1 minute.
  4. Transfer sauce to a blender. Pulse once or twice, then high speed for 1 minute. Cool to room temperature.
